Philosophy
I approach treatment from a collaborative stance to help individuals make lasting and meaningful change. I believe that all people are capable of reaching their growth potential and I work alongside each client to help develop an individualized and goal-oriented treatment plan. Because each person brings a unique story and belief-system to counseling, I adjust my approach and techniques accordingly. While childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood can be marked with transitional turmoil and adjustment difficulties, I am here to offer help and guidance along the way. I am a firm believer in the power of counseling and coaching to improve your life satisfaction and optimize your personal growth.
I primarily work with preteens, teens, and young adults with a variety of presenting concerns, including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, mood changes, ADHD, difficulty with transitions, school troubles, and family dynamic changes. I value being genuine and transparent with clients in order to create a space of safety and trust. I am a directive therapist who utilizes a mixture of both skill-building strategies, as well as insight-building techniques. In addition, I focus on acknowledging the humanness of our experience as essential for growth of the individual.

Experience
I completed my Masters in Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. During this time I interned with Smart Love Family Services, a non-profit, working with diverse children, adolescents, and their families. After completing my graduation requirements, I joined a private practice in Lincoln Park where I was working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have also completed my ADHD-CCSP to become an ADHD certified professional.
