Philosophy
Life can hurt sometimes; it is an inevitability of human existence. As much as we hope that hard work and dedication to school, career, family and ourselves will lead to success, it is the painful moments in life that that teach us resiliency--the characteristic that is most highly correlated with happiness. If we never fall, then we can never build the strength to stand back up again. Frequently, our greatest accomplishments come from overcoming life obstacles that we could not have predicted.

I approach therapy from the perspective that all of us can develop resiliency and self-confidence when we struggle. I help clients overcome obstacles and build foundational skills. Helping to reframe life events in a way that allows for confidence when navigating future life challenges. I have a genuine and empathetic approach. I provide an environment where individuals can explore and address personal barriers to growth. Through collaboration, I assist clients in setting goals, gaining insight, and identifying a pathway to achieving personal success.

Life may not always seem fair, but within challenges lie endless possibilities for perseverance and growth. As fog moves in clouding our view and holding us stagnant in fear, anxiety, depression, and loneliness, addiction we arm ourselves with skills and insight that can move one out of the pit and into brighter days. Every individual has a lot to offer and there is joy to be found. I look forward to being at your side on your journey to resilience.

Experience
After earning my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, I had the opportunity to work with adolescents, adults and couples in diverse clinical settings ranging from college counseling centers, community mental health organizations, and private practices. I practice an integrative approach, utilizing cognitive behavioral techniques and an interpersonal style to help clients learn more about themselves and make positive changes. I have a background in working with those who struggle with disordered eating, trauma, relational concerns, addictions, depression, anxiety, life transitions and other chronic conditions.
